Not-So-Fine Print
What this is...
"Your Town. Your Band. Your Righteous Causes." It's
not just a slogan. Rosie and the Posers actually is the
Fan's Band; a Band they can use as a powerful tool to
fulfill their musical, literary and artistic ambitions, and,
build support for their favorite righteous causes in their
town.
So, how does that work?
Here's a metaphor that will
help explain it. To wit...
Some really smart people got together and decided to
form a government such as never existed. They (also)
determine that one of the key distinctives of said
government would be the notion that it should be created
out (of) the general population, thus representing a cross
section of their ideals, that it should be run (by) the
people themselves through their representatives, and, that
it should exist (for) the purposes, they, themselves
intended. Literally, a government "of, by, and for" the
people - as opposed to a people existing of, by, and for the
purposes of the government. Result? The most successful
Republic in the history of the planet.
In the same spirit, Rosie and the Poser Fans have before
them the opportunity to literally create, not a
government, but a Band that is "of, by and for," their
purposes. A Band through which they can express their
musical, artistic and literary values, and, most
importantly, a Band that can be sent/directed to do their
will when it comes to supporting the righteous causes
about which they are passionate. Hmm... Now that's an
Idea.
Q. How often does one have a chance to
design and drive a Band?
A. Probably about as often as one gets to
design and drive a government.
Meaning, not often. But, that's the opportunity before
the Fans of Rosie and the Posers.
Interested? Rosie and the Posers will welcome as a
Fan just about anyone who's thirteen years of age or
older, with this one caveate. Like a republic wanting a
participatory citizenry, the kind of Fan for which the
Band is looking is the one that is going to actively
participate in shaping the Band to do their will. This
means they need to be the kind of person who would
enjoy spending a little time each week on the Fan pages of
the website deciding which songs they'd like to hear at the
coming concert, judging who has the best T-shirt design,
advocating for this or that worthy cause, and affirming
which stellar piece of art is going to grace the cover of the
forthcoming CD, etc., etc.. So, if you think you can be
